(D: 25 cm), (14 to 6 cm tube) Biography Gaetano Sciolari (1927-1994) is a born Italian designer in a family whose father runs a lighting production company. He obtained a degree in architecture and then moved into filmmaking. However, in 1949, upon the death of his father, he took over the head of the family business which he would propel in a few years to the forefront of the international scene. It became the first Italian manufacturer to import lighting fixtures to the United States, as well as one of the largest importers. He works for large companies like Lightolier, Stilnovo or Stilkronen. He is also the founder and first president of the Italian Professional Association of Lighting Fixture Manufacturers.
