Mid-century Italian Sculptural Steel Mirror By Bianca Garinei Florence, 1972

A handmade, sculptural steel mirror in the brutalist style by Italian artist Bianca Garinei for Banci Florence.
Signed by hand on the front as an engraving and on the back as a hand signature.
The rectangular mirror is divided in the middle, with a decorative section on the left and a continuous plain mirror surface on the right.
The left part is divided into square segments (28.5 x 28.5 cm).
These segments have a round, hand-crafted abstract decoration that looks like the grain of a natural surface.
The smooth and textured surfaces are light-footedly distributed along the left-hand mirror section and have the effect of a border.
A typical 70s look with a clear structure and distinct elements.
Due to its size, the object appears very imposing, but not heavy.
The color of the frame has lighter and darker parts - this also makes the object special and leaves a depth effect on the viewer.
The narrow, tall format makes the mirror an extravagant and rare mid-century art object.
