"An Ivory Okimono Depicting A Walking Geisha"
Ivory okimono depicting a Geisha walking on her geta. The geisha's face is serene and composed, with delicate features and an expression of calm determination. Her hair is tied in a traditional hairstyle. Her kimono, richly decorated with traditional motifs, is sculpted to appear to be blowing in the wind.

The wind is clearly perceptible through the position of her body, from her clothing and from her completely tense and moving umbrella.

The okimono is signed under the base within a rectangular reserve in red lacquer.

Period: Meiji end of 19th century.

Dimensions: 23.5 x 11 x 11 cm.

Conservation status: Excellent condition. There is a slight chip repaired on the side of the umbrella.
