"A Tokyo School Ivory Okimono Depicting The Study Of A Crocodile"
Ivory okimono from the Tokyo school depicting a study of a crocodile with its jaws wide open. The sharp teeth and wrinkled body are sculpted realistically, as are the lower belly and the details of the paws standing in a defensive position. The eyes are inlaid with mother of pearl and horn.
Period: Meiji end of 19th century.
Dimensions: 7 x 36 x 11 cm.
