"Casting Of Louis XVI Bust In Patinated Plaster"
Patinated plaster cast representing young King Louis XVI, head slightly turned to the right, in armor and wearing a wide drape, displaying the orders of the Golden Fleece and the Holy Spirit, resting on a molded pedestal. Patina imitating the land of Lorraine. Early 20th century period. Based on the work of Paul-Louis Cyfflé (1724-1806), the original bust in Lorraine clay from the end of the 18th century was sold at Christie's on November 3, 2015. Another model (smaller) from the Royal museums and deposited in the 19th century by the Louvre Museum at the Palace of Versailles, is kept in the Hunting Returns dining room.
