A late Victorian oil on canvas in a contemporary carved gilt and enamel frame. Possibly a theatre or opera character? Unsigned, stamps on canvas and framers label to verso. Also 'ESK' to reverse probably for 'South Kensington Examined' probably referring to the South Kensington School (Art). Overall in excellent condition including the frame. The canvas measures 46cm by 38cm excluding the frame.
