Lovely gilded bronze and cloisonné enamel tray decorated with reserves and arabesques; the shots represent doves in flight. It rests on four feet in leafy arabesques. Below, it bears the hollow signature of Alphonse Giroux-Paris Dimensions: L: 36cm W: 17 H: 5cm Maison Alphonse Giroux, “the merchant of princes”, is a major Parisian manufacturer of luxury furniture and accessories, whose products were intended for an aristocratic and bourgeois clientele, installed in 1799 at No. 7, rue du Coq Saint-Honoré, then Boulevard des Capucines.
