Rare pedestal table / revolving bookcase in Japanese / Chinese / Asian style, richly carved.

With red marble top with white veins, openwork swivel shelves and tripod base carved with dragon / demon heads and clawed legs.

Can be adapted to many uses: bookcase, magazine rack, CD rack, bar...

Art Nouveau / Japonisme, France, around 1880.
By Gabriel Viardot (1830-1904), famous Parisian cabinetmaker specializing in the production of "Chinese-Japanese style" furniture. He distinguished himself and received several medals at the Universal Exhibitions of 1867, 1878, 1889 and 1900.

In very good condition, restored : wood cleaned, treated against xylophages and waxed.
