Important Empire or Directoire period clock Represents Venus adjusting her tiara in front of a mirror held by love. Exceptional carving work typical of this period Sculpted bronze gilded and polished with agate The dial signed A PARIS the base decorated with a bas-relief representing dancing putti, above a second bas-relief decorated with chimeras around the dial The base is supported by four feet in the shape of chimera claws holding a ball. The mechanism is in perfect condition. French work circa 1800 The clock is delivered with its pendulum and its original key Some decorative elements missing, the foot at the back is unsoldered Height: 48 cm. , Width: 38 cm.
