Object description :

"18th Century Painted Miniature Brooch, Pin, Louis XVI Period."
Pretty brooch, painted miniature from the Louis 16 period, on a pin, for a scarf, tie, lapel or hat for an 18th century woman.
The hexagonal brooch offers the eyes, under its original glass, an outdoor painted scene, representing under trees and grass at their feet, two women sitting against an entablature on which are a couple of birds, Doves or turtledoves undoubtedly male and female, one of the adult women seems to explain to the youngest the perhaps romantic history of this pair of birds, a small dog at their side is the symbol of fidelity.
This theme was often repeated in the last third of the 18th century.
The object is in good condition, the miniature itself is mounted encircled on silver vermeil, the pin being made of gold.
This miniature can be transformed into a ring with a large plate.
