Flintlock pistol
France, 18th century.
Steel, wood, brass.
Total length: 51cm - Barrel length: 32.5cm - Cal: 15mm

Flat barrel, then round, long flat on top, three punches with a standing lion and one with the initials L.C.; brass barley grain front sight set in the center of a star.
Engraved brass tang.
Flat-body lock signed A PARIS, and engraved with a frieze. Gooseneck hammer. Bassinet with spark guard.
Varnished walnut frame with long shank, lightly carved. Medallion thumbpiece.
All fittings in cut brass, counterplate engraved with a frieze. Long-tailed, flanged cap, engraved en suite.
Wooden ramrod with horn tip.
Grooves on the cap, probably from the pistol period.

Good condition.
