"Important 18th Century Castle Cylinder Desk"
Impressive cylinder secretary inlaid with fruit wood from the 18th century. A decoration of burl wood medallions on a four-leaf curling background, surrounded by Greek fillets, adorns the curved front part of this very beautiful piece of furniture, with clear tones. The lower part opens with four drawers, once the secretary is opened, the top covered in green leather can slide forward in order to release, like a flat desk, a large work surface, this is completed by two zippers sides of 45 cm each. The cylinder is locked by a side key positioned at the top of the right side. The upper part is topped by a tier with 4 drawers, surrounded by an openwork bronze gallery. The feet are sheathed and inlaid with nets. The large dimensions of this secretary desk suggest an order for a castle or a large residence. Ancient restoration. Width 150 cm and 240 cm with the two zippers deployed, height 140 cm depth 90 cm.
