Beautiful Russian icon of the Virgin and Child known as the Mother of God of Kazan.
It dates from the second half of the 19th century -- around 1880 -- and comes from the Volga region in Russia.
The work is delicately done in tempera in rich and warm tones on a wooden panel entirely and richely gilded and chiseled.
It is presented in its original glazed wooden box.
Very good original condition with superb gilding. Two slots should be noted at the back of the presentation box (see photo)
