"Painting By Ag Korovine The Docks Of The Seine River In Paris"
Alexis Guy Korovine, born in Paris in 1928, comes from a family of artists, notably Constantin Korovine, Russian impressionist, and Serge Korovine, member of the Indépendants group. He studied in various painting workshops, including the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, before training as an art ceramist. It was not until 1960 that he devoted himself to oil painting. Member of the French Artists, he regularly exhibits in Paris and in the provinces. Passionate about landscapes, Korovine seeks to capture their dynamism, their intimate vibration and their light. It expresses a nostalgia for fleeting dreams and colorful moments that disappear. His works recreate scenes such as the "mists on the quays of the Marne", the "fog on the Île Saint-Germain" and the "dusk on the Hauts de Meudon", favoring minor tones and a reconstruction of spaces by successive shots and lines of flight. Korovin is distinguished by his melancholic approach and his quest for formal beauty in the solitude of things. He avoids cataloged influences and styles, preferring to develop a personal poetic vision. His painting from nature, which he considers as scales, evolves through a constant search for nuances and a transformation of realities into dreams and fleeting expressions. It invites silent contemplation of its dreamlike landscapes, transforming everyday scenes into poetic and contrasting visions.
