"François Théodore Legras, Large Bornéo Vase From The Algae Series In Acid-etched Glass"
Rare large acid-etched etched glass vase by François Théodore Legras (1839-1916). Impressive model 56 cm high, this is the Bornéo model from the Algues series. The Algae series: on an amber background lined with milky beige, the acid-etched decoration of green and ruby algae undulates in new shapes with names not always evocative of the seaside: Plombière and Luxeuil neighbor Haiti, Santiago or Sumatra . These vases bear the Legras signature in cameo. Our vase entitled Bornéo is a conical vase with a short neck, an amber base lined with milky beige, with acid-etched decoration of brown and green algae and flat oysters. This vase is reproduced on page 338 of the Legras reference book by Michel and Vitrat. Our copy is in good house condition, presence of cooking slots which in no way alter the solidity and beauty of the vase. Period around 1900-1910. Delivery by carrier 50 euros in France, 100 euros in the EU and 200 euros rest of the world.
