"Shaman's Drum - Dhyāngro - Nepal Early 20th Century"
Two-sided shamanic drum from Eastern Nepal. The dhyāngro is a drum played by the jhakris (shamans) of Nepal. Frame drum with two skins laced in a cross (plant fibers), with wooden handle carved with human figures, evoking a Tibetan ritual dagger. This intercessor-healer instrument is struck on the external face. While officiating, the priest speaks to the inner side of the drum.
