"Christ At The Crown Of Thorns, From The Master Of The Passion By Lyversberg "
This portrait of Christ with the crown of thorns is similar to the altarpiece of the Passion made for the Carthusian monastery of Saint Barbara of Cologne around 1464 and having belonged to Jakob Lyversberg. This oil on panel was probably produced at the end of the 18th or beginning of the 19th century. The tragic side of the moment is perfectly captured and transcribed by the artist. Work in perfect condition which would require cleaning of the varnish. 19th century framing.
