Pewter Ewer - Nancy, 18th Century

Pewter ewer with flared body and S-shaped throat, moving pedestal and C-shaped handle with draped stock. It is engraved “with trembling” of flowers and bouquet.
Hallmark of Pierre RAGOT received master in 1734: crowned Lorraine cross / PR / 1734.
Height: 26.7 cm.
NANCY, Mid-18th century

Lorraine ewers are often engraved with floral motifs of this type.
Consolidations of the attachments of the handle and the base of the base on the knot. They are visible in the photos.
Bibliography: “Étains de Lorraine” by Bertrand Bergbauer; the only work on this region.
