"Sober And Elegant Changer Candlestick, From The Early 17th Century, Patinated Bronze Square Foot Balluster Body"
Beautiful and rare "Changeur" candlestick with square base resting on four small "draped" feet, cast entirely in one piece in lost wax with a remarkable patina from the early 17th Century (around 1630). This candlestick is of astonishing density (in solid bronze) with an elegant and slender silhouette, with the beautiful movement of the body in softened balluster, with an incredible patina of untouched time, the high bobêche covering the whole, the foot in unhooked to receive the falling wax because this piece did not have a cup at its top, originally born like this for practicality in travel, a piece which comes from an important collection. In good condition, this piece is "Curiosity" and has nothing to do with classic candlesticks which generally went hand in hand.
