Paul jean CLAYS (1819 -1900), born in Bruges, is a Belgian marine painter. When he was young, he joined boats as a cabin boy. His work is distinguished by the softness and calm of his marine paintings.... He is one of the founding members of the free society of fine arts of Brussels. Its frame, with its nailed cartridge, is gilded with gold, all in very good condition. Frame dimensions: 48 x56 cm high. Dimensions of the painting: 24 x 32 cm high.
