Anton Büschelberger (1869-1934) Sculptures by Anton Büschelberger (1869-1934), German animal sculptor. He comes from a family of artists, his father Georg Friedrich Christian was in fact a sculptor. Anton Büschelberger settled in the artistic metropolis of Munich, where he studied at the Academy of Arts. Then he moved to Dresden, where he married Anna Seibt in 1899. From this marriage four children were born, among them Friedrich Büschelberger, who followed in his father's footsteps. He was mainly an animal sculptor, creating realistic bronzes. He drew his inspiration in particular from the Dresden zoo, where he filled numerous sketchbooks. He also collaborated for several years with the Karl Enz Porcelain Manufactory in Rudolstadt-Volkstedt, Thuringia. Anton Büschelberger's work is regularly auctioned at German art sales around the world. Anton Büschelberger's grave can be found at the Johannisfriedhof cemetery in Dresden.
