"Large Vase In Sterling Silver Minerva In Louis XVI Style By Louis Coignet"
Rare large vase in solid silver in the Louis XVI style. It takes a neoclassical shape with an ovoid profile decorated with gadroons and rows of pearls. Period late 19th century - early 20th century. It bears the Minerva 1st Title hallmark (950/1000 silver alloy) and the goldsmith's hallmark of Louis Coignet, a good quality goldsmith active between 1893 and 1928. Very pretty piece of great refinement, beautiful piece of silverware in the movement of the 1900s, a period when ornamentalists, tired of pastiches, decided to return to shapes and motifs referring to the pure 18th century style, executed with the technical perfection that the means of the time allowed. Our vase is in excellent condition. small deformation on the side, Height: 21,4cm Weight: 295g
