Object description :

"Magnificent Opalescent Vase Signed Etaleune 1930 Perfect Condition"
ETALEUNE is the distinctive brand of vases and molded pressed glass objects produced by “Établissements LEUNE”. Located at 28bis, rue du Cardinal Lemoine in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, this factory was active between 1900 and 1930, creating pieces of glass painted with hot-fixed enamel as well as numerous blown and pressed molded glasses. It is often claimed that the Etaleune establishments were created by Edmond Etling, although this story remains to be confirmed. This association is sometimes used to give additional prestige to glassware produced in large series. It would be more accurate to associate Leune with other important figures in glassmaking, notably Paul Daum, son of Auguste Daum, who is said to have directed the company in the early 1920s. In addition, Auguste Claude Heiligenstein, artistic director between 1923 and 1926, designed numerous models for this brand. Like many glassworks, the Leune factory ceased its activities after the crisis of 1929.
