Gaston Larrieu : “path In The Landes”

Gaston Larrieu (1908-1983): “Path in the Landes”, mixed technique (gouache and oil) 33 x 51, mounted under glass in a Parnassian frame 48 x 68 cm. A piece of the old Marie-Louise with the title is glued to the back of the frame. The famous singer of the Landes was also nourished by his travels, as much in Spain and Italy as in Brittany, sometimes pushing as far as the neighboring Basque Country, but here, it is indeed a forest path between the oaks and the pines which is described with an almost expressionist verve.
