Andrée SIMON, painter born in 1896 and died in 1981. Originally from Normandy, she was a drawing teacher for several years then devoted herself entirely to painting by setting up her first studio in Rennes from 1928. Her style was then figurative and very Cézanian. . She became friends with André Lhote, who taught her painting in Mirmande in Drôme, with whom she discovered the village of Gordes, a real favorite. With her husband she bought a house there and lived there for forty years.
