BLADE: It has a single edge and a very thick back. We find the double curvature typical of the Yatagans. On the last third, two small sides along the back. This blade is extremely sturdy, so it is not a light souk craft for decoration. I do not have a translation of the inscriptions.
Length of the blade = 27 cm, width near the handle, 2.7 cm, thickness near the handle = 6.3 mm
GUARD : It is a small yellow alloy cicular guard, which is obviously a coin. (I leave the identification to the numismatists...)
HANDLE: it is made of wood covered with a leaf of embossed tombac, enhanced with enamels. The end of the handle is a plate of copper metal finely chiseled with floral motifs. There are traces of old repairs at the junction of this plate with the rest of the handle.
SCABBARD: it is in pushed back tomback. with floral patterns. Two wooden splints inside the sheath hold the blade in place. A small suspension ring 4 cm from the entrance to the scabbard still carries the original chain.
It is therefore an unusual weapon, which will fit well into a collection of oriental weapons.
