The Virgin holding Christ is experiencing the infinite pain of a Mother towards her Son.

The Masters of Spanish painting of the 16th century stood out in this theme for the high level of drama of their works, first of all Luis de Morales (1509 – 1586).
The painting published here follows his inimitable style and was painted by a valid artist who was his contemporary.
The small size of the table satisfied the request of private clients and was intended for domestic devotion
The panel is in very good condition and the 19th century gilt frame fits the painting perfectly.
