This pitcher with a spherical base bears 2 handles, and a high straight neck called BERRADA in Morrocan ceramics typology.
This ceramic on heel, with a globular belly, is framed by two handles supporting a prominent straight neck. The whole is provided with a stylised floral and geometric decoration in bright polychromy of blue, green and yellow of the grand feu technique, implying a single firing for the earthenware piece, its enamel and decoration), on cream to light grey slip under transparent glaze.
It was used to receive fats, such as milk, oil, cream or butter.
Inside the neck, there is a thin and complex terracotta helix system used to filter the container. It has been perfectly preserved here intact despite its obvious fragility (please check detail photo)
Dimensions: 26cm high and 15,5cm diameter
Very good condition: slight chips from use showing its frequent and daily use.
This BERRADA pitcher is part of a real pair (please check last photos), with identical sizes, shapes, decorations and colors here dissociated for sale.
!!! The price indicated is for 1 of the 2 BERRADAs, but possible discount in case of group purchase (1300€ for the pair of Berrada,...)
