Set of 4 color lithographs on strong paper Ludwig Hohlwein entitled "Turf" dating from 1909. Very good condition, recently framed, Sun total 60 x 60 cm, prints with borders 50 x 50 cm, 38 x 38 cm without. Other lithos the same series in stock. L. Hohlwein, a German artist, 1874-1949, is one of the poster artists and graphic designers the most inventive of the early twentieth century. His style is recognizable by the use of chiaroscuro francs and very assertive contrasts. During the Nazi period, he designed the visual identity of the 1936 Olympic Games.
