"Bronze "allegory Of The Fatherland" - 19th Century"
Bronze representing a young man with a robust appearance, standing, simply dressed in a fabric held at his waist by a belt. His face is full-bodied, his gaze fixed towards the horizon. In his left hand he holds a standard, partially deployed on his shoulder, while his right fist contains a dagger. The remains of a cannon and its cannonballs scattered on overturned ground suggest that the Patriot is camped on a battlefield. The artist was able in his work, through the facial features and the position of the body in particular, to bring out the determination of the character, the valor and vigor of the fighter. The whole rests on a round brass base. Note also the presence of the inscription "MWR" on the back of the Statuette. ******** Period: 19th Century Perfect condition.
