Restoration Period - Mahogany Pedestal Table flag

Object description :

"Restoration Period - Mahogany Pedestal Table"
Restoration: large mahogany and gilt bronze gueridon.

Three console legs, sheathed in lion’s paws, support a wide flamed mahogany belt, topped with a very beautiful blue turquin marble with a cuvette, and rest on a trilobed base. At its center, a plateau surrounded by a guilloché gilt bronze ring stands out. The various gilt bronzes adorning this piece of furniture – blooming daisies, acanthus leaves, clawed feet – are of great chiseling quality, as well as the original gilding. The ensemble is reminiscent of the productions of the cabinetmaker J.J. Werner, supplier to the Duchess of Berry, at the Château de Rosny-sous-Bois, around 1830.
