This topic is in two distinct parts; the walrus and the base represented by a rock. The animal, which seems alert, is resting on its rock. he is armed with two enormous tusks made of walrus ivory. The base, also in green serpentine (or steatite), bears the imprint of its body carved into it. A signature, followed by fecit, is engraved under this base; "JOHNNY Fc" Beautiful and sensual work very representative of INUIT ART from the Baffin Island region, from the mid-20th century.
