Dated 1865 Japan signed Kunichika (1835-1900)

Kunichika is one of the most famous and sought-after woodcut artists of the Meiji period (1868-1912).

This rare woodblock print is a magnificent Kabuki portrait of Nakamura Shikan in the role of warrior Sasaki.

The print has a little dirt in the top 3 cm, a few creases and a few small holes (see last photos). But still very beautiful colors.
