"Oval Silver Box, Germany Circa 1900"
Oval-shaped box with a flat bottom in embossed, chiseled and guilloché silver. On the hinged lid mounted figures, executed in low relief, a standing man holding a tankard, a maid with a pot in her hands and a horse against a backdrop of a tavern and trees. The edge of the body is decorated with bouquets of flowers on the side edges and countryside scenes on both sides. Germany, Hanau around 1900, 800/1000 silver hallmarks, French “swan” control hallmark Master Goldsmith: Georg Roth & Co.
