Rare Fountain In Reduction 1780 1830.

Description:
Chiseled gilded bronze and brown patina.
This object represents a suspended basin like we see in water fixtures in Versailles for example. We see three putti riding water-spitting dolphins. The basin overlooking the putti is in the spirit of a font.
The barrel carrying the basin and the base are covered with dripping water. We are really in the miniature of a basin, it is not a centerpiece, which would be more stylized. Indeed, the drawing is particularly complex with the tangle of dolphins, putti, drips.
During dismantling for re-gilding we could see the extreme complexity of the parts and their adaptation. This work is by its particularity an order. Either an architectural garden project, or a particular request as a decorative object. This type of real-size water play elements was made especially during the 18th century but not only, this object could also be made in the 19th century as a souvenir or as a project for “à la mode” work. Which doesn't change anything in its interest.

Condition: Excellent condition, gilding redone with leaf.
