"Censer, 1660-1680, Sterling Silver, Brussels "
Extremely rare LouisXIV period censer in solid silver. It is abundantly decorated with foliage, scrolls, cartouches and cherub heads. Its upper part is very nicely openwork. The current chains are made of solid silver but do not date from the time of manufacture of the censer but rather from the end of the 19th century. On the bottom of the censer there is a single hallmark, the head of Saint-Michel, most probably a guarantee hallmark for Brussels around 1680. This magnificent object weighs 710 grams.
