"Mathieu Brunot: Rare Chocolate Pot In Sterling Silver From Burgundy - Dijon 1775-76"
Extremely rare large chocolate pot solid silver from Burgandy, late Louis XV period. Rests on three shoe feet with cartridge attachments highlighted with windings. Pouring spout surrounded by threads with a falling button, and topped with a tilting flap articulated around a hinge. The hinged lid ends with a movable disc (intended to allow a stirrer to pass through) topped with a spinning top finial. Remarkably hallmarked piece (body and lid) with the Mark / Control Hallmarks for DIJON 1775-81 (P Couronné), the Hallmarks of Jurande for DIJON 1775-76 (Z Crowned) and the Hallmarks of the Master Goldsmith Mathieu BRUNOT received in 1732.
