A magnificent large 17th century canvas depicting the episode of the expulsion of the merchants from the temple.
The scene offers an extraordinary sense of movement and an excellent rendering of volumes with the sensation of capturing the figures in three dimensions.
The caliber of the painting is evident, which attracts and excites even the most demanding and prepared spectator, used to high-level works.
The color range is splendid; the pink and bright blue of Jesus' clothes stand out and seems to move in relief in the center of the canvas.
The twisting of the figure of him who vigorously shakes the ropes to chase away the merchants desecrating the temple is notable.
The work is particularly exuberant and the Author can demonstrate his ability to give the various characters exceptional animation.
The famous workshop of Francesco Solimena, a true hotbed of talent, stood out for the production of large canvases of a religious nature, full of characters described with inimitable vigor and perfect juxtaposition, with excellent realism in the composition as a whole.
The effect on the wall is truly exciting both for the beauty of the work and for the spectacular nature of the scene.
