"Diane de Gabies" Large Sculpture in Silvered Bronze on a gilded bronze base Founder's stamp Dating from the 19th Century Diane de Gabies is identified as Artemis, goddess of hunting and nature. The Greek sculptor Praxiteles would be the author around 370-330 BC. The original marble statue was discovered in 1792 in Gabies, near Rome, on the property of Prince Borghese. Note some wear to the silvering.
