BLADE: This is a strong, single-edged blade. It has the "T" shaped section of the Afghan blades, and therefore has a very reinforced part at the level of its back. The double curvature already mentioned gives it an elegant shape.
A steel structure can be discerned, which seems a kind of damascus. I think treatment of the blade by a specialist could reveal the details of the forging. Small combat marks on the edge.
Length of the blade = 31 cm, width near the handle = 4.8 cm, thickness near the handle = 8.6 mm
HILT : It is made of 2 thick plates of buffalo horn riveted on the tang. A brass strip conceals the joint. At the end opposite the blade, there is the small metal part usual on Afghan weapons, where a small ring should have been attached.
SCABBARD: It is made of wood covered with black leather. This leather is lightly decorated, probably with a hot iron, with stars and various patterns. As with the majority of Afghan weapons, the dagger's hilt fits almost completely into the sheath when carried.
This beautiful object reminds us of the fierce warriors from the Pamir Mountains, whom neither the British army in the 19th century, nor the Red Army, nor the American army were able to defeat... It is a weapon which was uncommon in Europe before and in current times it seems unlikely to see others ones come out of the country... The power of the blade, and the massive shape of the handle clearly show that it is a real weapon and not a souk souvenir.
