Pair of Louis XVI covered vases, in red Languedoc marble and gilded bronze, mounted on balusters. It rests on a rectangular plinth with concave angles and a neoclassical round foot. The rich applications in gilded bronze, finely chiseled and well proportioned, are decorated with detailed ornamentation of knots and ribbons, sheaves of wheat, foliage, hat and shepherdess' wrapped staff. Attached to the narrow necks of the balusters, swan necks extend from the acanthus leaves and bend down to grasp the ends of the ribbons to form handles. The lid is topped with a pine cone.
