"Art Deco Portrait Painting By Henri Vincent Anglade"
Magnificent oil on oval canvas Portrait of a woman Art Deco dated 1925 Henri Vincent-Anglade (born Vincent; May 9, 1876 – January 25, 1956) is a French portrait painter and advertising illustrator. Vincent-Anglade is a student of Gustave Moreau, Fernand Corom and François Flameng at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Anglade exhibited in Paris and regularly participated in the usual exhibitions, notably at the Salon des Artistes Français, where he received a distinction in 1903. A year later, one of his studies on the nude was considered "slightly violent and acerbic". The French magazine La Revue described him in 1915 as "one of our best pencil artists". Early in his career, Vincent-Anglade became a fashionable portrait painter, primarily of intimate paintings of women. He was a regular at greyhound and horse racing and an avid big game hunter. He was also appreciated as an animal painter.
