Large 19th century hunting dagger signed by G LEON in Paris.The bronze guard, with two quillons ending at the ends with wolf heads, is decorated in the center with a numbered shield on a background of oak leaves.
Bronze pommel decorated with acorns and eggs on the edge.
Grooved horn handle on the edges.
The shell with a scrolled edge is decorated with foliage and in the center a deer attacked by dogs.
The blade is etched a third of the way on both sides: scrolls on the boards and ears of corn on the middle edges.
It is signed G LEON in Paris.
Wooden scabbard covered with black shagreen, brass cap engraved on the edges with a grotesque head.
The cut brass bouterolle, engraved at the edge and at the base on both sides, is finished with a flattened, gadrooned half-ball.
19th century period.
