Object description :

"Louis XVI Period Breakfast Table In Mahogany And Marble."
Louis XVI period breakfast table in mahogany and marble. Elegant model of Louis XVI pedestal table dating from the end of the 18th century in solid Santo Domingo mahogany with an octagonal tilting top in wood and marble. This most decorative living room piece of furniture also served as a lunch table, quickly stored with its tray vertically, it was easily moved thanks to its casters to install it anywhere to have a snack. The base of the pedestal table is tripod in shape, we note a beautiful execution whether in the cutting or the molding recalling the works of the cabinetmaker Joseph Gegenbach known as Canabas, this base receives a shaft sheathed with rings and grooves also of good quality. The octagonal-shaped top is in veined white marble surrounded by a slat veneered in Santo Domingo mahogany finished with a flat light mahogany strip. The frame under the marble is made of oak. Furniture in very good condition and authenticity with a beautiful polished mahogany. Dimensions: Tray height horizontally: 73 cm Total height with the tray vertically: 113 cm Tray width: 62 cm
