Curved chest of drawers in Louis XV style marquetry in rosewood, rosewood and violet wood. It opens onto 2 small drawers and 2 large drawers with fern marquetry on the front. Original gilded and chiseled bronze sockets decorated with intertwined foliage. Curved uprights with bronze falls on the edges ending with a rocaille shoe. Top with original marble slab, flattened corbin bec, veined “Rance de Belgique”. Note an old restoration in the rear left corner of the marble. Backs and bottoms of drawers in oak. Old locks. Louis XV style, 18th century period. Bears the P WATTELIN stamp on the right crosspiece of the top under the marble. Pierre Wattelin was a cabinetmaker born in 1719.
