(19th-20th century)
The Dordogne downstream from Trémolat
Oil on panel
H. 30 cm; L. 40 cm
Signed lower left, dated 1919
Unfortunately, the painter, who nevertheless signs with his full name, remains completely unknown today. This small oil painting represents the banks of the Dordogne near Trémolat, where a barge is stationed. The painter uses cream and mauve tones to treat the sky, which one could assume is from the end of the day.
