"Lambrequin In Crimson Damask Applied With Ribbons And Velvet - France 19th Century In 17th Century Taste "
19th century in the style of 17th century France Precious lambrequin in crimson red silk damask applied with finely embroidered chiselled velvet ribbons. Drawing with stylized rosettes and work of fine pleats in the curvatures of the velvets (probably 18th century). This type of applied work was common in the 17th century, which we observe in the iconography of castles in eastern and northern Europe, including Prussia. Matching silk fringes and burlap lining. The twisted embroidery work and the materials used are remarkable. Note a label from a French workshop from the end of the 19th century in a corner. No defects except a small, barely visible halo. Very good state of color and conservation. Dimensions: 177cm x 65cm
