"Painting Representing A Painting Of The Village Of Saint-tropez"
André Salomon known as SALOMON LE TROPEZIEN Born in 1900 - died in the second part of the 20th century. Salomon le Tropézien was born in 1900 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. It was at the beginning of the 1920s that he arrived in Paris where he began to paint pictures. He then joined the School of Paris movement, which brought together many foreign artists who came to settle in the French capital. It was in the 1950s that Salomon le Tropézien settled in Saint-Tropez, where he spent the rest of his life. He regularly exhibits his works in local galleries and even has a room dedicated to him at the Annonciade museum. The Annonciade museum, created in 1922, recalls that the city of Saint-Tropez was one of the most active centers of the pictorial avant-garde at the beginning of the 20th century, thanks to Paul Signac. Salomon le Tropézien is a self-taught painter. He stands out for his work with oil painting which he works with knives. He captures better than anyone the colors and lights enhancing the natural beauty of Saint-Tropez. The themes of the Mediterranean landscape occupy the majority of his work. He was also known for exchanging his paintings with some large Tropezian families for food or a little money. La Place aux Herbes, Saint-Tropez/France signed A. Salomon le Tropézien lower left. Oil on wood presented in a contemporary frame and an American white wooden box. Painting alone: 24 cm by 35 cm
