"Louis Frédéric Schützenberger"
An oil painting on cardboard, made in 1885, in Alsace, by Louis Frédéric Schützenberger (1825-1903). The latter shows a landscape with a river and two hauling men. He wears a blue uniform with black boots. In the boat stands a second man dressed with a hat, a brown coat and boots. The latter holds an oar in his hands. The scene takes place in the forest, on the banks of a river. The lower left corner is signing: “L. Schützenberger 1885”.
Louis Frédéric Schützenberger (1825-1903) was a Strasbourg painter who trained at the Paris School of Fine Arts.
