"18th Century Italian Majolica Albarello Drug Jar Camphor By Jacques Boselly "
A rare late 18th century polychrome decorated drug jar or Albarello signed by the Italian Savonese artist Boselli Giacomo 1744-1808,  a rare blue, yellow and polychrome majolica  vase.
The Italian Albarello is of a typical circular vase shape,   is decorated   in polychrome with a  cartouche with the Italian inscription UNG CANFORATO meaning camphor ointment. 
The albarello dates back to the late 1700s and is finely decorated with flying birds,  a castle and a female figure besides two trees  in the back  side.
It is in good age related condition with minor dents on the edge of the base and on the edge of the neck. 
On the bottom marked  with the signature Jacques Boselly,  the Cisalpine translation of the name of the Italian artist Giacomo Boselli,  from Savona Liguria region,  near the French border,  borno in 1744, he trained in Marseille. He opened his oven in 1768 in partnership with Giuseppe Robatto and died in 1808.
